If you wanted to know how to make the picture posts bigger in any of my themes read this!

A common question I get is how to make picture posts bigger. My inbox has deleted all my messages (silly tumblr) and it was getting tedious replying to everyone individually anyone so here’s a post of how to change the image size in any theme.

First you must find {Block:Photo} in your themes HTML. This is where all the formatting for your photo posts is contained. Next find something which looks vaguely like it won’t be exactly the same - it may say {PhotoURL-400}, {PhotoURL-250}, {PhotoURL-100} or {PhotoURL-HighRes} instead. To edit the size of your photos you need to change what ever is after PhotoURL- to the size you want to display - so, if you want your images to be 400px wide change it to {PhotoURL-400}.

Changing it to {PhotoURL-HighRes} will display the fill-sized original image, which more than likely will be too big and stretch out your layout leaving it ugly. A solution to this if you really want to display the high res photo is to paste {block:HighRes} View in High-Res{/block:HighRes} somewhere in the photo block.

Theme F.A.Q

Can I edit your theme?
Edit it to your hearts content! Please don’t expect me to help if you break it however.

Where can I find patterns to customise my theme?
My portfolio website, LaurenHarrison.Org, has a large and varied collection of original patterns. Feel free to snag a few from there.

Can I remove your credit link?
Can I stop you? Do what you like but it is consider polite to leave the link.

I want to change this theme but don’t know how. Can you help me?
If you have an idea of a feature you want I’ll try to help. Worst case scenario I can’t do it, best case it’s included in the next theme update.

I can’t get your theme to display my Flickr feed. What do I do?
This is a mistake on my part - I accidentally wrote “Flickr Username” instead of ID! To find out your ID try IDgettr.

Sorry to bother you, but…
Don’t apologise! If I didn’t want people to use my themes I wouldn’t make them. If there’s a problem 99% of the time it’s a mistake I’ve made so really, don’t feel bad about asking.
