This might be counter productive, but when ever I enter an art contest and get these “vote for me and I’ll vote for you things!!” I refused to vote out of principle.
Firstly, you’ve just basically told me my work is so bad the only way I could possibly deserve to win is to vote for you. Thanks.
Secondly I don’t need to be bribed to vote for you. If I think your work is impressive or heck, even if I absolutely hate it but just think you put the effort in or the concepts there or whatever, I’ll vote. If the only way you can get votes is to bribe people maybe it’s time to re-evaluate yourself as an artist.
Maybe I’m taking this too seriously. Sometimes I wonder how many ways I’ve set myself back in life by not playing into popularity contests…
